From Iceland to England: Cruising on Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady

There’s something magical about stepping onto a ship in one country and waking up in another. This August, I boarded Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady in Reykjavík for my first Rosen Curated Journey — an adults-only sailing that blended adventure, relaxation, and effortless travel from Iceland to England.
We spent three incredible days exploring Reykjavík before boarding. From soaking in the Blue Lagoon straight off the plane to a full-day Golden Circle tour, Iceland completely lived up to the hype.

As Phil Rosenthal Super Fan… I was sure to add in incredible meals like Sumac’s Mediterranean flavors and Le Kock’s famous sandwiches, and I was foodie heaven.
Goðafoss Waterfall
We sailed north to Akureyri, marveling at Goðafoss Waterfall and the alien landscapes of Lake Mývatn, then to the stunning Westfjords and Dynjandi Waterfall.
Crossing to Scotland’s Shetland Islands, we explored charming Lerwick, before ending the voyage in vibrant Amsterdam, where we enjoyed a sunset wine-and-cheese canal cruise.
Every visit to Amsterdam a canal cruise view is a must, this time we did a wine and cheese while the sunset, an amazing time.

This journey reminded me why I love hosting curated voyages: all the joy of travel without the stress. Everything was planned so our travelers could just show up and savor every moment.
I can’t believe I squandered living in Boston for 10 years, I never thought I would fall in love with a COLD location..
